Drivers should anticipate lane restrictions on Wisconsin Avenue between 34th Street NW and Hall Place NW this week. Roadway resurfacing activities are part of the ongoing upgrade of Wisconsin Avenue.
Weather permitting, work will beginning Monday and continue through Nov. 2 and lane restrictions will be in place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
According to a news release from the District Department of Transportation:
During this time lanes on Wisconsin Avenue will be kept open as follows:
- 7 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Two southbound lanes and one northbound lane will be kept open.
- 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: One southbound and one northbound lane will be kept open.
- 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Two northbound lanes and one southbound lane will be kept open.
Glover Park Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, Jackie Blumenthal, advised residents on the neighborhood listserv that Wisconsin Avenue will be repaved in three sections, the first of which is 34th Street to Hall Place. The next two sections will be Hall Place to Edmund Street, and Edmund Street to Massachusetts Avenue.
"The 34th to Hall section is scheduled to start Monday. This depends of course on Washington Gas being finished, which they say they will be, and the weather," wrote Blumenthal.
