Neighbors Mobilize Against Georgetown Campus Plan

The Georgetown University Campus Plan will have its first day of review April 14 before the Zoning Commission.

Months of community activism and public forums involving neighborhood associations and Georgetown University will soon give way to a formal review process April 14 as the Zoning Commission begins its examination of the proposed Georgetown University Campus Plan. Prior to the meeting, the Burleith Citizens Association (BCA) is organizing neighbors to provide testimony in opposition to the plan.

In a note to neighbors on the Burleith listserv, the BCA wrote, "tell the Zoning Commission how Georgetown University's enrollment expansion and inadequate housing policies have affected your life."

Through the review process, the Zoning Commission takes into account comments from neighborhood associations, such as the BCA, from the Advisory Neighborhood Commission and from direct neighbors who will be impacted by a proposed development.
