Pothole Palooza is Underway

Open season for potholes kicked off Monday. Report any nuisances you find in your neighborhood.

Monday, Mayor Vincent Gray and District Department of Transportation (DDOT) Interim Director Terry Bellamy kicked off this year's Pothole Palooza. The mayro challenged DDOT to repair identified potholes within 24 hours. Last year DDOT received 1849 service requests for pothole repairs during the month-long campaign and filled 7,690 potholes.

Since yesterday's announcement, DDOT has received 117 requests and filled 324 potholes. The program will run through April 21.

To notify the agency of a pothole in your neighborhood or commute, you can do one of the following:

 1) call the Mayor’s Call Center at 311, 2) use the On-line Service Request Center at 311.dc.gov, 3) text message or Tweet to twitter.com/DDOTDC, or 4) e-mail to Potholepalooza@dc.gov.  Callers must identify the location including the correct quadrant (northwest, northeast, southeast, southwest) in the city and as much detail as possible about the hazard, including the approximate size and depth of the pothole.
