Two Hour Delay for Local and Federal Governments and Public Schools

Government personnel and students can report to work or school on a two-hour delay schedule.

Icy conditions from the overnight winter storm have District and Federal government agencies, including public schools, operating on a two-hour delay schedule. Essential personnel, however, must report as usual.

Georgetown University students should plan to report to any class scheduled from 10 a.m. or after, unless they receive communication otherwise from a professor. Classes scheduled for Tuesday that begin before 10 A.M. are canceled. University employees who are non-essential personnel should report to work at 10 a.m. or as scheduled later in the day, according to the University Website.

The National Weather Service is calling for continued rain this morning through noon. Drivers and pedestrians should proceed with caution. As of 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Metro has not released a statement about operating conditions.
