Two New Bikeshare Locations Approved

Georgetown's Advisory Neighborhood Commission approved the location of two additional stations.

Georgetown will get two new Capital Bikeshare locations in the coming months after the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) received approval for two additional locations. There are currently five stations in Georgetown.

One station will be located next to the CVS on O Street NW at Wisconsin Avenue and the second will be located on what is currently an empty lot where 34th Street intersects with Water Street, NW.

Commissioner Jeff Jones said he thought the CVS station was a "great location" and that the CVS had told him it was supportive of having a station located on the sidewalk next to the store.

Chris Holben, the DDOT project manager for Capital Bikeshare, said the location on Water Street was especially "ideal" because Montgomery County is joining the Bikeshare system soon and that location is close to the Capital Crescent trail.

The ANC approved by stations unanimously.
