The West Heating Plant is no longer owned by the General Services Administration now that a $19.5 million dollar sale has official been inked with the development team that won the large Georgetown parcel at auction in March.

The starting bid for the 2-acre lot and 20,000 square-foot building at 29th and K Streets, NW was $500,001. The $19.5 million sale closed Friday, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The winning team, a group made up of local developer Richard Levy, New York-based The Georgetown Co. and the Four Seasons Residences.

When the winning team was first announced, they told the Washington Business Journal that they planned to build luxury condos on the site at the southeastern entrance to Georgetown.
