WOW! Live In A Converted Church

Developers are floating the idea of turning this into a single-family, luxury residence.

Not quite a house, but a lot of land and a lot of potential for $7.5 million.

Not too long ago, this was the Alexander Memorial Baptist church and, much like the rest of Georgetown, it is steeped in history.

When the church first went on the market in September, the Georgetown Metropolitan reported that the church was named after an ex-slave, Rev. Sandy Alexander, who formed the First Baptist Church more than 150 years ago.

But now developers are floating plans to turn the church building into a single-family, luxury home with support from the Neighborhood Advisory Commission and most of its surrounding neighbors.

Here is the description in the listing:

SITE CONSISTS OF 3 LAND PARCELS TOTALING 13,680 SQ. FT. EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE A CHURCH AND 3-STORY RESIDENTIAL/OFFICE BUILDING. CONDO CONVERSION OPPORTUNITY OR LUXURIOUS SINGLE FAMILY SITE.
