Georgetown Downtown Campus Expects Aug. 7 Opening

The 640 Mass. Ave, NW campus will house much of the school of continuing studies programs.

Georgetown University's downtown campus, 640 Mass. Ave, NW, could be ready for occupancy as soon at Aug. 7.

The 91,000-square-foot space will be home to some 1,100 students, many of whom currently take classes on the main campus in the Georgetown community.

The exact date for a move-in depends on when the university gets its certificate of occupancy.

"We're on track for an August move-in and classes will begin in the new space August 28," spokeswoman Rachel Pugh told Patch in an email.
