Hardy Seeks Bucks for Books

Hardy Middle School Parent Teacher Organization appeals to residents for support.

The Hardy Middle School book fair begins Thursday and the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is seeking donations to help purchase books for students in need and for teachers to use in the classroom.

Brian Cohen, the PTO president, emailed the community list serv to ask for "Bucks for Books."

"This month, any donations made to the Hardy PTO will go to purchase books for Hardy students in need or to fulfill teachers' class book wish lists," Cohen explained.

Cohen said the support would help the PTO achieve its goal of making Hardy the "best middle school in the city."

Hardy is the in-boundary public school for students who live in Georgetown, Burleith and Glover Park.

To donate to the Hardy PTO, go to the Hardy web site (www.hardyms.org), click on the yellow "DONATE" button, and you can donate via credit card or Paypal.
