Progressive Dinner Sneak Peek Part 2: Elizabeth Miller

The Hyde-Addison Progressive dinner will bring parents out to Georgetown homes for a night of dining with neighbors for a good cause.

Organizer extraordinaire and Progressive Dinner hostess, Elizabeth Miller, took a few minutes to give us a little insight into her role in the fundraiser this Saturday, May 14.

Enjoy Part 2 of our sneak peek of the fun community event. Missed Part 1? .

  • How did you get involved with the Progressive Dinner? I first organized the Hyde-Addison progressive dinner because I thought it was a really fun and unique way for the school community to mix with the greater Georgetown neighborhood and for us to raise some money for the school.  The first dinner was such a huge success that we just HAD to do it again!
  • Can you give us a sneak peek at something you're planning to make or a hint at what guests might expect? Guests at my home can expect a simple but delicious meal. When you're feeding people you don't know (are there allergies?  are there aversions?)  - it's important to keep it simple!!  And that's what you'll get here at the Miller-Sallick dinner venue.
  • What about the dinner are you most looking forward to? I love meeting new people in Georgetown and in the school community. I love being in people's homes in such an intimate way.  Progressive dinners are so old school and such a lovely way to meet friends/neighbors and experience different foods, homes, etc.
  • What about the dinner are you most worried over? I'm not worried about the dinner at all! It's all fun and easy. Maybe I worry there would be a volatile political discussion - this is Washington after all...
  • What do you love about Hyde-Addison? I love the Hyde-Addison school for how divinely diverse it is - linguistically, socio-economically, globally, ethnically and in every other possible way. It's a special little gem in the heart of Georgetown. We should thank our lucky stars that Principal Dana Nerenberg has committed herself to making the school the best public school in the city.
