Vatican Supporting 'Exorcist' Author's Complaints About Georgetown University?

Alum says the school isn't 'Catholic enough.'

In case you missed it recently, the Vatican is supporting a complaint by Georgetown grad William Peter Blatty that the famous Catholic university just isn't Catholic enough.

The famous author who wrote "The Exorcist," has a 2,000-signature petition behind him calling for the school to become more Catholic and less socially liberal, according to The National Catholic Register newspaper.

“Your communications to this dicastery in the matter of Georgetown University … constitute a well-founded complaint,” the newspaper reported Archbishop Zani as writing. “Our congregation is taking the issue seriously and is cooperating with the Society of Jesus in this regard.”

“Today’s Georgetown isn’t Georgetown, but more like a living Picture of Dorian Gray," the author told the Catholic newspaper back in October.

“Remember that wonderful line in the film The Princess Bride, when Mandy Patinkin says, ‘I want my father back?’” Blatty asked. ”Well, I want my beloved university back, not just alive, but totally beautiful — and healthy.”

The newspaper reported that Georgetown disagreed with that assessment. “Catholic and Jesuit identity on campus has never been stronger,” Rachel Pugh, the school’s communications director, said last September when Blatty turned in his petition.

What do you think? Is Georgetown University 'Catholic enough'?
