Video: 'First Look' at Georgetown Downtown Campus

The new campus downtown will serve the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.

Georgetown University offers a video tour of the pre-construction space that will become Georgetown Downtown, the future home of the School of Continuing Studies. The new campus at 640 Massachusetts Ave. NW is scheduled to open in late 2013.

The 91,000-square-foot space will be home to some 1,100 students, many of whom currently take classes on the main campus in the Georgetown community.

The downtown expansion was one of many answers to the recent campus plan agreement with neighbors in which Georgetown University promised to seek out more space beyond the existing 104-acre campus in upper Northwest DC.

"I think it will be a wonderful opportunity for all of our students, faculty and staff to all be together in one facility for the first time," Senior Associate Dean James Parenti says in the video about the School of Continuing Studies' new home.
