Dog Tag Bakery Under Construction

Expected to train disabled veterans, nonprofit to open Georgetown bakery at 3206 Grace Street.

Dog Tag Bakery is one step closer to opening its doors later this year. The non-profit program will provide job training for veterans with disabilities and their spouses.

Earlier this week, Washington Business Journal noted that permits were requested for interior alterations at 3206 Grace St. NW.

According to Dog Tag's website: "Beginning in the Fall of 2014, Dog Tag Bakery will hire a cohort of wounded veterans and their spouses each year to complete a program that provides both substantive work experience and a tailor made curriculum at the School of Continuing Studies at Georgetown University."

A groundbreaking ceremony was held last month.
