Georgetown High School Lacrosse Players Take Talent To Universities

Find out what schools won them over.

Seniors at Georgetown Visitation and the National Cathedral School signed letters of intent to play university lacrosse next fall, the Capital Girls Lacrosse Club announced on Monday.

Ana Hagerup of Georgetown Visitation signed a letter of intent to play for University of Virginia in the fall. She currently plays midfield, defense and attack and has received all-league honors.

Hagerup helped Georgetown Visitation beat rival St. Stephen's and St. Agnes for the very first time with "three goals and three assists, including the game-winning goal," the lacrosse club said in a statement.

Parker Garrett of National Cathedral School decided to play for University of California, Berkeley, in the fall. She currently plays midfield and has four major lacrosse honors.

"I want to thank my mom and my dad for getting me this far," Garrett said in a lacrosse club statement. " My determination would not have paid off if it were not for their love, drive, and support."

Both recruits have good academic records at their high schools. Hagerup has been on the honor roll for eight semesters and Garrett has Magna Cum Laude status.

Hagerup is considering studying business or economics, she said. And Garrett plans to major in business, she said.
