Marine Corps Marathon Road Closures for 2012

The 37th annual Marine Corps Marathon Sunday, Oct. 28 will once again bring a steady stream of runners across the Key Bridge and onto Georgetown's main streets, M Street and southern Wisconsin Avenue. The race begins at 8 a.m. in Arlington, Va. and then crosses the Potomac River into D.C. It ends at 3 p.m.

According to the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, the following streets along the race route will be closed beginning at 6:50 a.m. and are expected to reopen by 1:30 pm (Italicized streets directly affect Georgetown):

• Canal Road, NW – from M Street, NW to Reservoir Road, NW
• Reservoir Road, NW –from MacArthur Boulevard, NW to Canal Road, NW
• MacArthur Boulevard, NW –from Foxhall Road, NW to Reservoir Road, NW 
• Foxhall Road, NW – from Canal Road, NW to MacArthur Boulevard, NW
• M Street, NW – from Canal Road, NW to Wisconsin Avenue, NW
• Wisconsin Avenue, NW – from M Street, NW to K Street, NW  
• K Street, NW – from Wisconsin Avenue, NW to Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway
• Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway, NW  - from K Street, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
