NCAA College Football Schedule: Everything Local

Summer’s not even done cooking yet, but already it’s time for college football. Virginia’s teams are nowhere to be found among the top college football rankings, but that’s why they play the games, right?

The college betting lines, predictably, aren’t showing a lot of hope for Virginia Tech, 18-point underdogs to No. 1 Alabama. (See the game on ESPN at 5:30 Saturday.)

Virginia’s an underdog, too, but by only a field goal, to Brigham Young. (Game time is 3:30, and it’s on ESPN2.)

Keep an eye out for the local guy.

And good news for football addicts: Your fellow junkies will certainly be there to support you at several establishments in and near Georgetown where you can watch the games.

Why: Official home of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Ohio State Buckeyes, Rhino Bar serves up hundreds of chickens wings each weekend during the fall to hungry fans.

3. Crystal City Sports Pub

529 23rd St. South Arlington, Va. (Metro accessible)

Why:  It's worth it to cross over the Potomac River to Virginia if your favorite team is playing at Crystal City Sports Pub. And since they have over 100 TV’s, your chances of catching the big game are good. Check their schedule online to see which games are playing this weekend.
