Photo Slideshow: DC's Oldest Softball League Holds Championship Game Over Weekend

Glover Park Co-Ed Softball League brings the 29th season to a close on Sunday with final tournament.

Ten teams, two days, one trophy.

The (GPCSL) held its 29th Annual tournament last weekend on Stoddert Field, ending the season with its championship game on Sunday.

After almost nearly two seasons of being detached from Stoddert Field, the field on which the league originated in 1982, players and fans collectively agree it is good to play on familiar ground. While Stoddert Field was out of commission due to the rebuilding of Stoddert Elementary, the league played under the lights at Guy Mason and Jellef Fields.

The Agents became the 2011 champions after defeating the Niners in the final game on Sunday night.

The 2012 season will be the GPCSL's 30th year-- solidifying its standing as the oldest softball league in DC.
