Report: 'Redskins' They Are and Will Always Be

Owner Daniel Snyder not budging on team nickname.

As long as Daniel Snyder is owner of the Washington Redskins, they'll apparently always be the Washington Redskins.

The Washington Post reports that Snyder told NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in a meeting Tuesday that he does not plan to change the team’s name.

The Post cited two sources who said the focus of the meeting was not about changing the name but how to deal with the issues it raises, including protests by Native American advocates and others.

CBS Sports reports that NFL officials are scheduled to meet with representatives of the Oneida Indian Nation of upstate New York on Wednesday.
