World Cup Viewing Parties Today: Freedom Plaza, Smithsonian Kogod Courtyard

Looking to be part of a big crowd to watch today's USA vs. Belgium World Cup soccer match?

In addition to the Freedom Plaza outdoor viewing party today, The National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum are the place to be, especially if you want to get out of the heat, for another official watch party.

The Smithsonian is hosting the party with the Embassy of Belgium, the D.C. mayor’s office and the Downtown D.C. Business Improvement District. It will be held at the museums’ air-conditioned Kogod Courtyard, 8th and F Streets, NW, Washington, DC 20001.

The match is scheduled to air Tuesday at 4 p.m. The museums are located at 8th and F streets in Washington. The Smithsonian says fans are invited to attend the free event and dress to support their team.
