Stoddert Elementary teacher Steve Dingledine (me) was pied in the face this afternoon by one of his students in celebration of the end of testing.
The end of testing — the annual opportunity kids have to show what they know — is celebrated because it, and the lead-up to it, lasts for weeks (even longer at some schools) and it tends to stress everyone out. But the kids give it their best and deserve to have some fun afterwards.
What better way to have fun than to see a teacher with a big fat pie shoved into his face!? This event is now in its third year and it raises money for Stoddert as the opportunity to "pie" is awarded to the highest bidder at the school's annual fundraiser.
