What are you thankful for as the holiday season approaches?

Stoddert student reflects as the holiday season approaches

My class writes alot of essays throughout the school year.  This weeks is one of my favorites because it demonstrates that kids are appreciate for the good things in their lives.  This is one of my many favorites from this year:

"I am thankful for many things.  I am thankful for my family, my friends, my wonderful planet, and many other things.  Around the holidays I am especially thankful for Christmas and my family being all together for it.

I have been with my family my whole life and I am thankful for my loving parents and siblings (including my cat and my frogs).  I am glad we are all healthy and all have the best life we could possibly live in.

As well as my family, I am thankful for my friends.  My friends provide me with the most happiness and laughter I could ever have.  They are there for me every step of the way and I am there for them too.

As the holiday season approaches I am very much thankful for Christmas.  Every year my Mom, Dad, sisters, and Grandma always gather around the tree opening presents on Christmas Day. I am glad we have those presents and love that spreads throughout that day and many others too.

I am very thankful for all those things including a roof over my head, food to eat, health insurance, cloths on my body, a school to go to, a teacher to teach me about what is ahead, my horses and animals, and last but definitely not least, a planet to live on."

I just made a few minor edits to this essay.  Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case, the person forgot to put their name on this one!

Happy holidays!
