"Priceless"

Nats broadcasters FP Santangelo and Bob Carpenter got quite a kick out of the "priceless" moment during last night's game in which Glover Park resident Erik Skooglund wound up with a foul ball off the bat of Nats outfielder Denard Span.

Truth be told, I was fortunate enough to catch the ball when Giants first basemen Brandon Belt was kind enough to toss the just foul ball hit in the fifth inning into the stands.  As appropriate for the occasion, the ball was then given to Erik, who was at the game with his dad Carl.

Truth also be told, Erik was a standout student in my fifth-grade class a few years ago and quite an athlete as well!

Anyway, later in the game Erik gave the ball back to me.  Why?  I cried and cried and cried like a baby.  Just kidding. Adam LaRoche tossed the warmup ball his direction in the 9th inning and it just seemed like the thing to do.  Thanks Erik! Thanks Brandon!  Thanks Adam!
