2013 DC Summer Outdoor Films Guide

Movies under the stars outdoors this summer in DC and beyond.

A great summer tradition in the DC area is watching movies outside. Here's a round-up of what's coming in 2013. Several DC-area outdoor film festivals start in May!

DC

Screen on the Green — Screen on the Green has not released its schedule of movies for 2013 yet. For updates, go to the Screen on the Green Facebook page.

NoMa Summer Screen — The NoMa Business Improvement District presents movies at sunset every Wednesday from May 22 – Aug. 21. Capital Riverfront Outdoor Movies — The theme for the 2013 Capital Riverfront Outdoor Movies is Marvel vs. DC Comics.  Movies are shown at New Jersey Ave SE and Tingey Street SE. The first movie is scheduled for May 30. Click here for more information and for schedule updates.

U Street Outdoor Movies - Harrison Field Under the Stars — U Street Outdoor Movies started May 8 and will continue June 19, July 17, Aug. 21 and Sept. 18. Movies are shown at Harrison Field on V Street NW between 13th and 14th streets. Go to /movies.ustreet-dc.org/ for more information and schedule updates.

 

Arlington

Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival — Rosslyn’s Business Improvement District presents movies every Friday at dusk from May 17 to Aug. 30. Movies are at Gateway Park, 1300 Lee Highway, in Arlington. Click here for the schedule of Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival movies.

Crystal Screen Outdoor Film Festival — The Crystal City Business Improvement District presents movies at sundown Mondays from June 3 – Aug. 26. Movies are shown near the Crystal City Metro. Click here for the schedule of Crystal Screen Outdoor Film Festival movies.

 

Alexandria

Cinema Del Ray — Now in its 9th year, local Realtor Jen Walker presents Cinema Del Ray. The movies are shown in the field next to the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave., in Del Ray. Families can start gathering at 7 p.m. Click here to see the Cinema Del Ray 2013 schedule.
