DC Weather: Fourth of July Forecast

Sun, heat, possible thunderstorms on tap for the holiday weekend.

DC could get some scattered thunderstorms and rain Wednesday, but the Fourth of July forecast calls for sunny skies and hot temperatures.

The July 4 weather should be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 87 and just a 20 percent chance of rain.

At fireworks viewing time, temperatures will start their descent into the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies. Humidity will be upwards of 70 percent during the day and night.

The remainder of the weekend:

Friday will essentially be a repeat of Thursday, with temperatures in the upper 80s, a 20 percent chance of showers and partly cloudy skies.

Both Saturday and Sunday, there’s a slightly better chance of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. High temperatures may reach 90 degrees.
