Where to Go Strawberry Picking Near DC

Strawberry picking season started in mid-May and will continue for several more weeks. Here's where to go pick-your-own fruit plus some good strawberry pie, jam and other recipes.

We're in the middle of strawberry picking season in the DC region. With good weather expected this weekend, here are a few options within a 60 - 90 minute drive of Georgetown. Plus, we have links to some great strawberry recipes below.

Mackintosh Fruit Farm - 1608 Russell Road, Berryville, VA 22611. Phone: 540-955-2161. Mackintosh Fruit Farm is open May through October and in addition to strawberries, you may be able to pick apples, nectarines, tomatoes and much more. Drive time: About 75 minutes from McLean.

Hollin Farms - 1524 Snowden Road, Delaplane, VA 20144. Phone: 540-592-3574. Hollin Farms also features apples, blackberries, cherries, peaches and more throughout the summer and fall. Drive time: About an hour from McLean.
