Toddlers, Teens, And Kids With Special Needs Will Love Flight Trampoline Park

Last week was spring break for Flash, so the tiny-trots clan decided to check out Flight Trampoline Park (FTP) in Springfield, Virginia. I visited their website before going, and it looked very cool. The decor appeals to the older kids with the exposed brick and graffiti on the walls. This 15,000 square ft facility has world-class-trampolines and launch decks of varying heights to jump off of. The trampolines are not your standard fall-off-and-break-your-arm kind of trampolines. These are like mats on the floor; set up like bowling alley lanes. I was relieved because it looked very safe and manageable.

Being that it was a Thursday morning I didn't expect too many people, but I was wrong. It was packed. I recommend buying your tickets online and filling out their Waiver prior to going, in order to avoid the lines. But again, I went during spring break, so I set myself up to wait. Marketing Director, Eric Johnson, kindly gave me a tour. He reassured me that Thursday mornings are typically much quieter.
When we first walked in there were cubbies for your shoes and coats. The staff was attentive and friendly. The fast-paced music was blasting, and it definitely set the tone for the experience. While I scoped out the place, my boys were chomping at the bit to get their jump on...and they did for an hour!

Even though this entertainment facility was packed, it didn't ever feel too crowded. The facility is large with different sections of activities (basketball on the trampolines, a pit to jump into, dodgeball with wall-to-wall trampolines, or a pit of soft cubes for the little ones) which kept the kids dispersed. But as a mother, what I appreciated the most was the section for kids 46 inches and shorter. I didn't have to worry about them being trampled on by an older child (or adult). The little kids' section had about 10 to 12 lanes of trampolines and a pit to jump into with soft cubes.

FTP offers different activities for families: Open Jump (everyday, but times vary), Club Fight (music and lasers on with the lights off; for kids 14 years and older; every Friday and Saturday night), Kid Flight (from 10 am to 1 pm, for kids 46" and under; Monday through Friday), Family Flight Night (every Monday from 6 to 9 pm; up to five family members pay $35/hour), and Special Needs Night (the first and third Tuesday of every month, from 5 to 7 pm; they open exclusively to special needs jumpers and their families at a discounted price). And for those of you looking to burn some calories, they offer Flight Fit, which leaves you 1000 calories lighter. Classes meet Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
As you can tell from the picture, there were only smiles at our Flight Trampoline Park experience. I literally didn't see one tear from my kids or anyone else's! I call that a successful day for sure.
