Clyde's Turns 50 Monday

Clyde's will offer free breakfast in celebration of its 50 years on M Street in Georgetown.

Clyde's Restaurant in Georgetown is celebrate its 50th anniversary of serving the DC area beer, food and fellowship. The M Street location will be dishing up a free breakfast Monday morning.

Since its founding at 3236 M St., NW in Georgetown in 1963, the one location became Clyde's Restaurant Group and now includes 14 restaurants, some under the Clyde's name, others include The Tombs, 1776 and Old Ebbitt Grill. 

As the Washingtonian comments:

"It’s notable about Clyde’s that in 50 years in business the company has never closed a restaurant nor franchised. It is still owned by Davidson’s widow, Sally, who is chairman of the board, and her co-owner, CEO John Gibb Laytham."

Diners can stop by between 8 and 10 a.m. Monday to enjoy a free breakfast of eggs, juice and coffee in the Omelette Room.
