Metro Takes a Track Work Break Aug. 23-25

With one exception, Metro will not perform scheduled weekend track work because of crowds expected for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

There is no scheduled Metro weekend track work for Aug. 23-25 to accommodate crowds for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington

The one exception is that track work will affect Franconia-Springfield Station, from which where trains will depart every 24 minutes, rather than every 12 minutes, according to a Metro news release.

Metrorail will open at 7 a.m. and close at 3 a.m. Saturday and will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight Sunday. 

Additionally, Metro will not allow standard-frame bicycles on Metrorail between the 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
