2014 Georgetown Home and Garden Tours Coming This Spring

Visit historic homes and beautiful gardens in Georgetown. Proceeds benefit local charities and volunteer programs.

Spring is right around the corner and that means lots of home and garden tours. Be sure to save the dates for these two Georgetown tours coming up:

Georgetown House Tour: Nine historic and elegant homes will be on the tour, scheduled for Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a Patron's Party on April 23.

Included in your ticket price is a not-to-be-missed Parish Tea in Blake Hall at historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, at 3240 O Street, N.W.

Following an 83-year tradition, the tea features homemade tea sandwiches and sweets. You may walk in at any time between 2- 5 p.m. Stay tuned for more information coming about the homes on the tour. Click here for ticket information. A separate ticket must be purchased for the Patron's Party.

Georgetown Garden Tour: This year's tour will take place Saturday May 10, and feature some of Georgetown's most intriguing gardens, open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Over the years, the garden tour has featured a wide variety of gardens with spacious sweeping lawns and majestic trees to intimate outside rooms.

Presented by the Georgetown Garden Club, an affiliate of the Garden Club of America, the tour is supported by the contributions of neighbors and local merchants. Tour proceeds benefit local environmental and beautification projects.

Christ Church, 31st and O Streets NW, will serve as headquarters for the tour. In addition to purchasing tickets at the church, you may also peruse the unique garden boutique which will offer Haitian linens, handwoven silk textiles, garden statuary, fine porcelain vases, cutting boards, garden pots and many other delightful garden-inspired goods.

Included in your ticket price is a delectable afternoon tea served at Keith Hall, Christ Church from 2-4 p.m. Always a popular feature of the tour, the tea includes light refreshments made and served by members of the Georgetown Garden Club.
