D.C. Farm to School to Benefit from Burritos

Area Chipotle restaurants will donate half of their sales Wednesday evening to the D.C. Farm to School Network.

The D.C. Farm to School Network could benefit from your burrito dinner Wednesday night, if you dine at local Chipotle restaurants between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will help support the D.C. Farm to School week coming up in October.

The network brings healthy food options and education on nutrition to local schools. According to the D.C. Farm to School Network website, the organization is made up of hundreds of stakeholders, like teachers, parents, farmers and more.

Wednesday, 50 percent of all sales at all Washington, D.C.-area Chipotle restaurants will be donated to the D.C. Farm to School Network at Arcadia. There is a on M Street in Georgetown and on .

In an email on the network's listserv, organizers wrote:

We're excited to work with Chipotle because they are genuinely excited about our programs to connect youth with where food comes from, and they show similar organizational support for growing the local, sustainable food economy.
