Donate Food to SOME at Washington Harbour

The K Street offices have donation boxes for non-perishable items for So Others Might Eat.

Looking for a way to support a local charity before Thanksgiving? The Washington Harbour is running a food collection for So Others Might Eat (SOME) through Nov. 22.

Bring non-perishable food items to the donation boxes in the East and West office lobbies at 3000 and 3050 K Street at the Washington Harbour. Lobbies are open to the public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Donations will help stock the food pantry at SOME. Suggested food items include: nutrition bars; cereal; pasta & sauce; rice; beans; macaroni; canned meat, soup, vegetables; peanut butter, jelly; evaporated milk, instant potatoes; instant oatmeal; ground coffee.

According to the SOME website, homelessness among families in D.C. has increased 46 percent between 2008 and 2011.
