Georgetown Hotel Lemonade Stand Raises $1,200 for Cancer

Alex's Lemonade Stand was at the Westin Georgetown Friday

The (2350 M St., NW) raised over $1,200 to help Alex's Lemonade Stand find a cure for childhood cancer. The hotel had a lemonade stand at the corner of 24 and M Streets Friday, just in time for the record hot weather.

The non-profit cancer foundation started when cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) held her own front yard lemonade stand to raise funds for cancer research.

The Georgetown lemonade stand Friday raised $1,230 and Cat Carter, the hotel's director of sales and marketing, told Patch in an email they are still "tallying our in-house lemon sales and drink special sales" to determine the full amount.
