Santa Claus Visits Georgetown, Burleith

The man in red rode down M Street and through Burleith on a shiny red fire engine Sunday.

Santa Claus stopped by 15 homes in Burleith and rode down M Street in Georgetown Sunday thanks to a special invitation from the Burleith Citizens' Association and a ride from Engine Company 5. This was the second year in a row the BCA managed to snag the big guy for a visit the weekend before Christmas.

According to Karen Landes from the BCA, Santa left Engine Company 5 in style and rode on top of the truck for a tour down M Street.  Shoppers and neighbors greeted Santa along the way.

After his joy ride, Santa visited 15 houses in Burleith where he took last minute requests from children on the "nice list" and he left a small toy to give them something to tide over their excitement.
