End-of-Summer Ice Cream Sunday 
Sunday 1 p.m. at Dumbarton House, 2715 Q St., NW. Commemorate Dolley Madison's flight from the White House to Dumbarton House as British Troops advanced upon Washington, D.C. Guests will make their own ice cream and try out an ice cream flavor popular during the federal period. Then take a tour of historic Dumbarton House.

Scope out the new Digital Commons at the MLK Library: The downtown library now offer an 11,000 square-foot space filled with 48 public access PCs, 12 express computers, a 3-D printer, an Espresso Book Machine for self-publishing and much, much more. The Martin Luther King Jr. Library is at 901 G St., NW, check hours online.

Gordon Biersch continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary by offering its house beers for $2.50 everyTuesday through August. The brew pub chain has two locations in Washington, DC (900 F St., NW and 100 M St., SE), a pub in Tysons Corner in McLean (7861 Tysons Corner Center) and another location in Annapolis.

Make Gyotaku fish prints! How did Japanese fishermen record their catches? They rolled ink or paint onto them and pressed them against a piece of paper to make a print.
