Jazz in the Garden Concerts Start Friday at National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden

A popular al fresco summer-long concert series begins today (Friday) in DC.

Jazz in the Garden features jazz musicians in a free concert each Friday night (except for the 4th of July) from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden.

Visitors may purchase food and beverages from the Pavilion Café's menu

Here's a look at the summer lineup of musicians who will perform at the free concerts:

Sculpture Garden Rules

  • Alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the Sculpture Garden but may be purchased at the café.
  • Do not touch the works of art unless it is indicated that you may do so.
  • Do not ride bicycles or use in-line skates and skateboards in the Sculpture Garden. Either walk beside your bike or secure it at one of the hitching posts located near the entrances on Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive.
  • No pets other than service animals are allowed.

The Sculpture Garden is on the National Mall at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. (The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden is bounded by Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive, and 7th and 9th Streets NW).

Public Transportation
The nearest Metrorail stops are Judiciary Square on the Red Line, Archives–Penn Quarter–Navy Memorial on the Yellow/Green Lines, and Smithsonian on the Blue/Orange Lines. Metrobus stops are located on 4th Street and 7th Street NW.

Taxicabs are easily hailed in most areas of the city and often wait for Gallery patrons between the East and West Buildings on 4th Street NW.

Parking and Accessibility
Public parking is limited to the surrounding streets and commercial garages. Parking spaces, ramps, and elevators provide access to public areas and galleries for visitors with disabilities at the East Building entrance on 4th Street NW and the West Building entrance on Constitution Avenue at 6th Street NW.
