Outdoor Movies in Rose Park, Truckeroo and More for your Weekend

Rose Park Outdoor Movie: This free community event is a double feature of Babe, followed by Field of Dreams. Bring chairs, blankets, picnics and bug spray to Rose Park, 26th Street between O and P streets, NW, Sunday night.

Summer Jazz Soiree at Dumbarton HouseDumbarton House, 2715 Q St., NW, is hosting an evening of  jazz, dancing, food and mingling on Friday, Aug. 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. Look for treats from Pie Sisters and wine from Tradewinds. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

KITCHEN WARS at Letelier Theatre: Join your neighbors and fellow foodies for a launch party for Kulinary Concepts, the group hosting Kitchen Wars to highlight the talents of local chef.  The free event at Letelier Theatre (Upper Courtyard 3251 Prospect St. NW) will include food and drink tastings and is being held to raise awareness about the upcoming fundraising campaign for Kitchen Wars. The first Kitchen War show is slated to take place at National Harbor, Md. in the spring of 2014.

Lululemon Murder Book Talk:
Peter Ross, the author of "Murder in the Yoga Store: The True Story of the Lululemon Killing", will visit Politics and Prose Bookstore (5015 Connecticut Ave. NW) on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. The discussion of the case, trial and his book is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required. 
 

Truckeroo: Hosted by Georgetown Events, owned by Georgetown's own Bo Blair, this monthly summer food truck festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Half and M St., SE.
