Santa, Free Cupcakes, Caroling And a Celtic Christmas

This weekend around Georgetown.

Moon bounce, face painting, crafts, DJ, Hanukkah games and pictures with Santa. 
What: 
Annual Toys for Tots party sponsored by the Friends of Glover Park and the Glover Park Citizens Association.
When: Friday, Dec. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
Where: Glover Park Community Center at Stoddert Elementary School, 4001 Calvert St., N.W. 
Cost: Free

Bring a toy and get a free cupcake until Sunday. Stop in on Saturday for pictures with Santa, too.

Where: Sprinkles Cupcakes, 3015 M St., N.W. 
Cost: Receive a free cupcake for one donated toy.

Sing along with the Georgetown Lutheran Church and its Baroque-style organ, and learn about the carol's origins.

When: Saturday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. (About 45 minutes long)
Where: Georgetown Lutheran Church, 1556 Wisconsin Ave., N.W.

Hosted by DC Running Club, the run/walk will benefit The W.H.A.L.E.R.’s Creation Annual Foster/Adopted Youth Christmas Dinner. Start off with holiday music and finish with a costume contest, T-shirts and eggnog.
What: The 12Ks of Christmas Holiday Run
When: Saturday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. 
Where: Capital Crescent Trail, meet at 3700 Water St., N.W. 
Cost: Registration is now closed, but go out and cheer them on! 

Festivities with Celtic harp, flutes, pipes, and bodhran, interwoven with holiday readings, including "A Child’s Christmas in Wales." 
What: A candlelit Celtic Christmas with the Barnes and Hampton Celtic Consort
When: Saturday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m.

Seventeen Christmas trees and one mantle for auction at a charity event that benefits pediatric programs at Georgetown's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. 
What: Georgetown Jingle
When: Sunday, Dec. 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a family-friendly performance "Holiday Wonderland" and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with an adult-only cabaret "Anything Can Happen!" 
Where: Four Seasons Hotel, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W. 
Cost: $50 to $375, buy tickets here

Santa Claus (Tom Strike) will visit families in Burleith. Email Mrs. Claus (Sarah Strike) at smfstrike@yahoo.com with the number and ages of your children and your address to request a drop-in from Santa.
