Weekend Guide: Patriotic Parade, Gangstagrass and More

The weekend is here, how are you going to spend it in Georgetown, Arlington and beyond?

1. Independence Day Celebration and Old Fashioned Patriotic Parade
When/Where: 5 p.m. Sunday at Rose Park, 26th and O Streets NW, Washington, D.C.
Why Go: Celebrate the July 4th holiday a bit early with the annual old fashioned parade in Rose Park. Break out your red, white and blue to decorate bikes and make your pups look festive. The parade will be followed by a concert featuring Max Impact performing Rock, R & B and Country music favorites as well as patriotic tunes.
Price: Free.

2. Gangstagrass with The Human Country Jukebox
When/Where:
8:30 p.m. Friday at the Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, Va.
Why Go: Country-flavored hip-hop? A "bit of Dixie in the District"? Take in this unique country and hip-hop performance at the Artisphere in Arlington. 
Price: $15

3. Rosslyn Film Festival Featuring "10 Things I Hate About You"
When/Where: Dusk Friday at Gateway Park, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, Va.
Why Go: Based on Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the  Shrew" and starting Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this film is sure to please.   Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and enjoy a flick in Rosslyn with a view of Georgetown.
Price: Free.

4. The United States Air Force Band
When/Where: 8 p.m. Friday at 1 Air Force Memorial Drive, Arlington, Va.
Why Go: Take in an evening of music celebrating the theme of Air Force Global Reach through the summer concert series featuring the Concert Band and Singing Sergeants.
Price: Free.

5. Glover Park-Burleith Farmers' Market
When/Where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Hardy Middle School, 1819 35th St. NW, Washington, D.C.
Why Go: Get your peaches and corn while they are in season! Saturday's market also features several kid-friendly events like a sign-along and story time. 
Price: Free to attend.
