I wish the customer service was good. Exact opposite experience. Sent 2 emails (with photo) off how a dozen cupcakes placed in their individual boxes were all smushed together after sitting alone on the floor of my car. No excuse for $31.90 of cupcakes to be ruined and less yet of an excuse to ignore a person's email(s). They are a huge disappointment.

My family and I visited earlier this month and fell in love with your cupcakes. We too did a comparison with another local shop and DC Cupcakes was by far our favorite. There really was no comparison. Keep up the great baking. (I had the Coconut cupake and it just melted in my mouth - would love the recipe to be posted on Facebook sometime.) :)

Several week ago I drove down from Long Island, New York to visit my daughter who lives in DC. Naturally, I had to visit Georgetown Cupcake and see what all the fuss was about. I now understand why it's now become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Washington! Not only do the cupcakes taste sinfully creamy and delicious, but the variety of cupcakes are absolutely impossible to choose from....so, you must try each one. While I do consider myself an adventurous person, and I loved tasting the flavors of the day, (strawberry, peanut butter fudge), I found myself always going back to the classic chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing. Also, I recently spied the Shark Week cupcakes offered on the Discovery Channel---adorable and of course, pure fun!

Georgetown Cupcake cupcakes are absolutely the best thing in the world! I actually can't live without them, I go every Saturday to get the key lime cupcake! The customer service is as good as service that you get from the four seasons resort and they deserve this title more than anybody else! Georgetown Cupcake is the bomb and I wouldn't dare eat any other cupcake than there's.

Georgetown Cupcakes are the best! I always watched their show on TLC and so when my fiance proposed in October 2010 he ordered a dozen cupcakes to have as a little treat after I said "yes". They were amazing. Our favorite is the Pumpkin Spice with cream cheese frosting (their cream cheese frosting is to die for) and I wish it wasn't just an October flavor--I would eat them everyday if I could! Now we plan on having GTC for our wedding instead of a cake in September 2011. I can't wait to have another; it's been far too long since October and I need to fill my GTC cravings!!

My husband and I went to DC for a little getaway in June. I am a cupcake lover and am always trying new places. We went to DC Cupcakes our first day there and went back each day after that. My friends and I love Georgetown Cupcake! We frequently buy cupcakes and sneak them into the movie theater! I had wanted to try Georgetown Cupcakes for a long time, but was intimidated by the line at M Street. Then Sophie and Katherine opened the Bethesda shop and I can enjoy a Georgetown Cupcake whenever I want. It would be impossible to pick a favorite, but I would have to say, go for a red velvet, key lime, banana split, or salted caramel. If you haven't experienced Georgetown Cupcake's cream cheese icing, you are seriously missing out! Take my word for it! Thank you so much for everything, Georgetown Cupcake!!!!!

I've been to Sprinkles and the cupcakes were OK but they do not even compare to Georgetown Cupcake......They are litteraly the best cupcakes I have ever tasted!

After years of cupcakes at birthday parties and celebrations, I thought I'd seen it all. Little piece of cake, a bit of frosting on top, usually from a store-bought mix. Then, one day, a friend brought a box of cupcakes into school from a place in Georgetown--"Georgetown Cupcake." These cupcakes were different from the start: the frosting was swirled beautifully on top of the fluffy red velvet cake and the whole thing was topped with an elegant red heart. I was intrigued. Nervously, I took a bite. There was no turning back. The cake was perfectly baked--a light, moist red velvet with the perfect hint of cocoa. And the frosting, oh, the frosting! The perfect amount of decadence. I could eat it by the handful! Never did I imagine something so rich and delicious could also be so sweet and simple. Now, I don't go a week without stopping by my local Georgetown Cupcake location in Bethesda, MD. These are the real deal. If you are ready to turn your life around, do not waste another minute. Get thee to a Georgetown Cupcake!

You can ask anyone of my friends, cupcakes are my thing. I'm a tough critic for them and hardly find good contenders. But Georgetown Cupcake delivers! My friends and I discovered them before the show started filming and have been hooked ever since! As we aren't from DC, but about an hour away, it's a special trip and delight to go to their store. Their cakes have the best flavoring, as do their frostings (I like their buttercream, and I HATE buttercream usually). Georgetown Cupcake is by far the best cupcake shop in the District, but they are probably the best cupcakes in the world! On the Facebook page for Georgetown Cupcake, people from all over the world beg for a shop to open in their city. I have seen people in the Philippines do this (three different people in one day). That alone tells you how good the cupcakes are. But until you try them, you don't really know! They are amazing! And they have different cupcakes every day. It never gets boring! Back before I lived in the area, I could not get Georgetown Cupcakes easily, so I had them delivered perfectly to me and it was really easy. And my cousin got them shipped to her house in Los Angeles and they arrived in perfect condition! Georgetown Cupcake is the best and people always complain, but the treat is worth the wait. Not only do they have a plentiful variety of unique and delicious cupcakes everyday, but also the presentation of the cupcakes is very appealing. Georgetown Cupcake gets my vote for many reasons. First, their cupcakes are absolutely DELICIOUS. Their cakes are moist and flavorful and the buttercream frosting is sweet and light. They also offer free custom fondant. I went to a wedding where their cupcakes were served and the wedding fondant was beautiful. Their staff is also warm and friendly. One of the employees often asks trivia questions at the door for free cupcakes. What a great place!!

Having lived in Bethesda for the entirety of my adult life, I was ecstatic when I heard that Georgetown Cupcake was coming to town. I had heard countless stories about how delicious these cupcakes were, but I had never had the time to make it downtown. When Bethesda opened up in late 2009, I had my first taste of heaven. All of the cupcakes are delicious, but it is the frosting that brings these bad boys home. The peanut butter cream cheese frosting on PB Chip and PB fudge are something to write home about. In addition to these delectable treats, the Bethesda store also offered a friendly environment full of attractive employees. These friendly kids make each visit special, so props to the management for hiring them. Georgetown Cupcake is THE only cupcakery in the DMV that lives up to the hype.

I'm not a lover of cupcakes, but when I first had Georgetown Cupcake, I was instantly converted. The pillowy goodness of the cakes, with their subtle flavors of elegance, really match well with the smooth texture of the frosting. The flavors available also trump out the other competitors. Once someone has tried the Blueberry Cheesecake, they'll write off the real thing! I've joined a gym this month just so I can continue enjoying these sinful delights.

I remember their first shop on Potomac St., tiny and small with a line up the block. First time I had their cupcakes great! But as time went on their cupcakes were iffy. One day it could be moist and loads of flavor. Then the next visit the cake would be dry and lacking flavor. I stopped going and once they moved into the old Starbucks shop, I thought I would give it a try. It was ok, but the cake was dry. It is a hit or miss with this place. One day you can have a great small cupcake, and then have a dry and flavorless cupcake. It's getting business because of the TV show, not for the cupcakes.

To be honest, one day I saw a rainbow. I followed that rainbow and at the end there was Georgetown Cupcake. I would take a cupcake over a pot of gold any day. Georgetown Cupcake is one of the most unique bakeries that I have ever been to. The cupcake are decorated so each one is like a little jewel with a perfect swirl of frosting on top. I have been to many cupcake places and they all feel like a coffee shop. Georgetown Cupcake is not like this. It's got charm and a certain quirkiness to it. Their cupcakes are delicious and their coffee (Illy) is equally great.

"Epic!" doesn't even begin to describe the experience at Georgetown Cupcake, or as I have nicknamed it, "Georgetown Heavencake." Red Velvet is a veritable symphony of flavor in my mouth! Truly delish!

Rich frosting atop a creamy pastry...how can you go wrong? The cupcakes are only beat by their exemplary service. I've ordered many times for shipping, delivery and pickup. We had one or two issues, but they were immediately and professionally resolved by their friendly staff! I'm a customer for life.

The frosting to cake ratio is perfect, employees are beyond nice, and seriously the best baked good you'll find ANYWHERE!

I go to Georgetown Cupcake every time I visit Washington DC! The cupcakes are amazing!! My favorites are the key lime and salted caramel, but I love them all!!

I've tried all three places in georgetown and Georgetown cupcake wins in my opinion. Baked and Wired had some good flavors but overall Georgetown cupcake has better natural flavors, a good price point, and an overall yummy taste. Sprinkles was just was too sweet and tasted artificial. Even though they looked bigger, they weren't at Sprinkles and not worth the extra $10/dozen. At GC my favorite is the peanut butter fudge, perfect pb icing. Also the other fruit flavors are very good and I prefer them to most of the chocolates.

I love this bakery. I used to live in Boston before I moved to DC and there was nothing like Georgetown Cupcake there. The lines are long but I always pre-order and skip the chaos. Both times I've ordered for delivery, they have arrived on time and the delivery fee is very reasonable. I always have pleasant service too. An added plus!

My favorite Georgetown Cupcake is the Chocolate Ganache cupcake. I love this cupcake and also bake it at home using their recipe on the Washington Post recipe website. I love the chocolate they use - you can tell it is very high quality. I also love the Chocolate Squared, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Cubed - basically anything Chocolate. Georgetown Cupcake is THE cupcake shop in Georgetown - hands down!!!

I went to Georgetown Cupcake before the TV show, when it was on Potomac Street. It was popular back then, but nowhere near as crowded as it is now due to the show on TLC. However, the cupcakes are still as wonderful as they were when they first opened. I have a standing order each week and always take my family and friends outside the area cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake when I visit them. I personally love the fact that they customize your cupcakes for you for no extra charge and their decorations are all handmade. They will always be my favorite!!

I am addicted to Georgetown Cupcake's coconut cupcakes. They are not greasy like some others I have tried. They are the best coconut cupcakes I have ever had. I also love the coconut key lime ones but they are not on the regular menu so I try to snag them at events!

Best cupcakes in DC. They ship to your house, the white choco raspberry is to die for, and their employees aren't sickly sweet and fake like cough*Sprinkles*cough. GTown Cupcake is by far my fave. I love Georgetown Cupcakes! I'm a So Cal native, and I've hated Sprinkles since it opened and when I moved to the East Coast I finally found the perfect cupcake. Georgetown Cupcakes gets everything right that Sprinkles has gotten so terribly wrong. Maybe they could learn a lesson from their competitor. Sprinkles cupcakes made me vomit and want to burn my tongue off. Georgetown Cupcakes are what cupcakes should be, not too sweet, not too greasy, just enough frosting and super cute decorations. I will always be loyal to Georgetown Cupcakes because they are honestly the best. Can't go wrong with the red velvet or salty caramel.

Let me just say, I've made it my personal mission to try all cupcakeries within walking distance of my office, and held many a taste test for friends, families and co-workers. The UNANIMOUS vote goes to Georgetown Cupcake, no contest. I will say though, Baked and Wired is tied for second (with Hello Cupcake-Dupont Circle), but GTown Cupcake consistently comes out on top with their delicious cakes, melt-in-your-mouth frostings, and cute decorations. Sprinkles cupcakes are NO good! Even my teenage son, who eats anything not nailed down, doesn't like Sprinkles! Their cake is dry, the frosting TOO sugary sweet, and their fondant decorations are almost inedible. Do yourself a favor and head down the street, you'll be glad you did. My final two words: Chocolate Squared...

I did not like Georgetown cupcakes at all. I am from California, where Sprinkles prevails and my opinion is that it still does in DC. I had my favorite flavor, red velvet, and was over the toilet for an hour after with a throbbing headache from how sweet the icing was. My whole family also complained of headaches from their cupcakes, too. I can't even look at a picture of Georgetown cupcakes without gagging now.

I vote Georgetown Cupcake! A++++ Best cupcakes in town for sure! Not only are the cupcakes amazing but everyone in the store is so nice. Plus they do custom decorations for free, Sprinkles charged me an additional $10 for some ugly little decorations that melted into the frosting and their cupcakes weren't even good. Georgetown is the best, no question. I love the Salted Caramel and the German Chocolate Fudge are to die for. So much flavor!

Georgetown Cupcake is by far the most mouth watering and satisfying cupcakery in Georgetown, and the most delicious in the entire state of Maryland if you ask me! Each day they offer delicious cupcakes and their signature cream cheese frosting is to die for. Their signature Red Velvet cupcake is the flavor that got me addicted and keeps me coming back for more. My ultimate favorite is Chocolate PB (peanut butter) Swirl. Only downside is this superb flavor is only offered one day per week. Each month the Georgetown Cupcake team helps me discover a few new favorite flavors of the month. My suggestion is don't miss Strawberry Champange in January, Cherry Blossom in April, White Chocolate Raspberry in June, Strawberry in July & on Sunday's, and White Chocolate Peppermint & Santa's Chocolate Chip in December.

With the popularity of this place this is a must stop from when we have our New York family here. When we go, we usually get one of each available flavor, sit around and taste all of them.Their favorite so far has been the Salted Caramel one, instant perfection, enough frosting for each bite and so scrumptious you would want more and more. This is the best place hands down.

I love Georgetown Cupcakes I live in Mississippi and love to see the Fed-ex man delivering me a pink and black box these cupcakes are the best I've ever eaten I love the Salted Caramel it is my fave.. My daughter who is 5 really likes the ones that have peanut butter in them!! I love how they do so many cupcakes for great causes like the Gluten Free ones and the Susan G Komen ones and so many more.. by far the best cupcakes!

Employees are great and although I don't frequently see them in the shop, when the owners are there, they're very hands on!

The frosting is outstanding, and the flavor combinations are unique and fun. They are definitely worth the wait. But a great way to avoid the lines during prime tourist season is to order in advance online. Takes a bit more planning, but worth the time if you can! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

People ask me "Are they really that good?" - YES - they really are that good! I've tried a number of boutique cupcake shops but Georgetown Cupcakes is a standout because of their quality ingredients, interesting flavor combinations, and manageable size. Some places have cupcakes that overdo the frosting, others are just too big, and still others are too skimpy. GTC is the perfect balance of cupcake size and cupcake to frosting ratio. There are so many flavors I haven't tried but of the ones I have tried, the Salted Carmel and German Chocolate are fantastic...I don't think you can go wrong with any order though!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST! My girls and I decided to do a cupcake crawl last summer and the only spot that has kept us coming back is GTC. the cakes are super moist and the frosting is perfect. I haven't actually tried an actual cupcake made by Georgetown Cupcake, however, I have browsed through their cupcake recipes, as well as that of Sprinkles' on the internet, and gave them both a try. The outcome of the cupcake recipe from Georgetown Cupcake showed better results than that of Sprinkles'. The former's recipe for the cupcake itself produced moist ones plus the frosting was not overwhelmingly sweet, while that of the latter's was a bit dry and the frosting was waaay too sweet.

My family & I visited Georgetown Cupcakes and bought a dozen. The Chocolate2 cupcake won us over. The chocolate frosting was heavenly. I enjoyed the Key Lime as well. My husband liked the chocolate birthday cake as well. I am glad I live in Massachusetts otherwise I would be there daily trying all the different cupcakes.

I adore Georgetown cupcake. I love cupcakes in general, I've tried gourmet cupcakes at several different bakeries like Sprinkles. However, no one has been able to beat Georgetown. I've never had a single one of their cupcakes that I didn't like, and everything always tastes fresh and amazing!

Georgetown Cupcakes are the best I've found in the country... I live in Oregon and I would rather spend $60 dollars to ship cupcakes from GTC than drive 10 miles and buy them locally. The cupcakes them selves are amazing- the cake is always moist and full of flavor and the frosting is never overwhelming. Now, don't get me wrong- I love Katherine & Sophie, but I wasn't quite impressed with the actual cupcakes as I am with them, their business, and their quirkiness. When I visited the store for the first time, I was anxiously awaiting my first bite. I was amazed that they were just standard size cupcakes but the taste is pretty good. Now, I do like some of their cupcakes and have ordered from them twice to my home. That part I do appreciate as Sprinkles you can't do that. However, I wouldn't say they are the best...actually Gigi's Cupcakes are but Sprinkles B & W is to die for. I most certainly will still buy Georgetown and experience new flavors. Maybe one day they will win me over.
