Lawyers Have Heart 10K Returns to Georgetown, June 11
The 21st annual Lawyers Have Hear 10k race and 3k fun walk will return to Georgetown Saturday morning.
The Lawyers Have Heart 10k will bring some 5,500 participants to the Georgetown waterfront for a race along the C&O Canal, Saturday, June 11, to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA). The race, the largest 10k in Washington, begins at 31st and K Streets at 7:30 a.m. and is followed by a party at the Washington Harbour. Approximately 150 Washington law firms participate each year, several are based in Georgetown. Firms send teams who raise funds to support the (AHA). The top fundraisers win the Biggest Heart award, a coveted title. Hilary Sama, a development director at the AHA, said about 50 percent of participants are from the legal comuity, the rest are open slots, filled by familes and people who just like to run.
