Mayor Selects Developer for West End's Stevens School
The proposed development would bring a 10-story office building with ground-floor retail and underground parking to 1050 21st St.
Mayor Vincent Gray announced last week that Akridge-Argos development team and Ivymount Schools and Programs will redevelop the historic Stevens School site in the West End neighborhood of the District. The joint team will redevelop the existing school, which has been closed since the end of the 2008 school year, and will develop an office building on another part of the site at 1050 21st St. Georgetowners are familiar with Argos for the developer's current project, converting the Hurt Home into the Montrose Condominiums.
