From Arizona With Love

Local designer Tina Bark builds a business on desert-inspired creations.

Cacti in full bloom, earth-tone colors, autumn leaves and city bustle are just some of the things that have inspired Tina Bark's work. She works mostly with metal, cutting and shaping each piece by hand, constructing from sheets of metal and wire to form three-dimensional flowers, butterflies and geometrical shapes. Her materials all come from Arizona, but her pieces will soon carry the "made in D.C." label. Inspired by nature and the Arizona desert, it was natural that her business would began to grow with her Desert Flower Series---a collection of flower rings in varying sizes, made in copper and silver.
