House Unsafe for Occupancy After Car Crashed Into Basement

The house on 28th Street at P Street needs repairs to restore its structural integrity

Mitsubishi T-Bones Ford Escape on Wisconsin Ave.

The collision partially blocked traffic on Wisconsin Avenue on Monday night.

Updated 10:51 p.m. A two-door Mitsubishi sports car traveling southbound on Wisconsin Avenue crashed into a Ford Escape on Monday evening. The Ford Escape, driven by Richard McKay, a Georgetown resident, was heading west on R Street sometime after 9:30 p.m., and was hit by the Mitsubishi. On Monday evening, it was unclear if the Mitsubishi had run a red light on Wisconsin Avenue. The driver of the Mitsubishi did not indicate whether or not they had run a red light, but McKay said that his light was green. "I guess they were in a hurry," he added. McKay said he was two blocks from home at the time of the collision. The impact of the crash caused his Ford Escape to flip over onto its roof. McKay said he was dangling by his seatbelt. "I guess…
