Party 2010 Away in Georgetown

Georgetown's bars and lounges are celebrating New Year's Eve both in grand and easygoing settings.

New Year's Eve is just around the corner and some parties, such as the popular Georgetown Harbor celebration hosted by maritime trio Nick's Riverside Grille, Tony and Joe's and Cabanas, are sold out. If you couldn't find tickets on Craigslist for this shindig, Georgetown's got plenty of party options with live entertainment, open bar and even easygoing festivities. Wine, Dine, Dance and Toast to a New Year in Georgetown

If you're looking to feast before heading out to your New Year's Eve bash, simply dine in a romantic setting or eat and party under one roof, Georgetown's fine dining establishments have plenty to offer.

JAZZ IT UP A brand-spanking new restaurant, a classic supper club and a private one opening up its arms to guests, these festive options will provide party-goers a jazzy and swinging New Year Eve's experience. Rainy Night Did Not Dampen Spirits at UGG Opening

Shoppers enjoyed snack, champagne and shopping in spite of the rainy weather on Sept. 30 at the UGG Australia opening in Georgetown.

UGG Australia feted its newest store, a concept store in Georgetown, Thursday evening, Sept. 30. The new store, filling the void left by Diesel, opened for a sneak peek for shoe lovers and curious shoppers. "We're never going to have an overflux of stores," said Kristen Thomason, PR manager for UGG Australia. The D.C. store joins the company of two, soon to be three, New York, NY stores, as well as existing and planned stores in San Franciso, Chicago, Hawaii, Miami, Vegas and L.A. Fashion's Night Out Turns Georgetown Into D.C.'s 'Style District'

Shopping, champagne supports industry, local charity.

More than 50 shops and restaurants will open their doors from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday to shoppers and fashionistas as part of Georgetown's first ever Fashion's Night Out. The event, which began last year in New York, brings together the fashionable and those who cater to them to celebrate fashion and give the industry an economic boost. The Georgetown event will also raise funds for a local charity while highlighting the role of fashion in the District. Jim Braco, executive director of the Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID), described Georgetown as D.C.'s "style district."
