Creative DC Moms Winter Festival Celebrates Motherly Ingenuity
An ode to the urban mother.
Entering parenthood is like entering a whole other stratosphere in the universe. It’s inexplicable and nothing, except experience, can really prepare you for it. Being an urban mom is like being part of a sisterhood. Since entering this sisterhood ten months ago, I’ve met some incredible women. Some of them work outside the home and some have chosen to leave their high-powered careers to stay at home. ALL of them are creative, intelligent and resourceful people. Many of these women have ditched the desk and started their own businesses. I decided it was high time that these “‘mommypreneurs” got the credit they deserve and took it upon myself to organize a festival bringing some of these local talented women together.
