Two Hour Delay for Local and Federal Governments and Public Schools

Government personnel and students can report to work or school on a two-hour delay schedule.

Icy conditions from the overnight winter storm have District and Federal government agencies, including public schools, operating on a two-hour delay schedule. Essential personnel, however, must report as usual.  Georgetown University students should plan to report to any class scheduled from 10 a.m. or after, unless they receive communication otherwise from a professor. Classes scheduled for Tuesday that begin before 10 A.M. are canceled. University employees who are non-essential personnel should report to work at 10 a.m. or as scheduled later in the day, according to the University Website. Fatal Accident Closes Canal Road between Arizona Avenue and Foxhall Road

Expect delays during the morning commute due to an earlier fatal accident.

A  fatal multi-vehicle accident on Canal Road at Clark Place has closed Canal Road from Arizona Avenue to Foxhall Road. Expect delays during the morning commute. Traffic traveling Eastbound is being diverted onto Reservoir Road and Westbound traffic is diverted to Foxhall Road. Canal Road is expected to remain closed throughout the morning commute. Initial reports indicate two fatalities resulted from the early morning crash.
