Most Georgetown residents had power Saturday morning.

Georgetown residents were cleaning up fallen limbs and branches and reporting downed trees Saturday morning after a powerful "derecho" storm hit the area Friday night. A large tree fell across Dent Place between 33rd and 34th Streets, closing the street to traffic Saturday morning. Several cars were worse for the wear; a tree crushed a convertible near the intersection of 28th Street and O Street and a limb smashed the windshield of car on 1600 block of 34th Street. To report downed trees in public space, residents should call 311 or go online at 311.dc.gov.
