Switzerland: Not So Different from Georgetown
On a recent trip to Switzerland, I catalogued the various stores that also call Georgetown home.
You might have noticed a photo of my guest editor at the top of Georgetown Patch for the week after Christmas and over the New Year holiday. That's because I was galavanting around parts of Switzerland with my husband and close friends. While there I could not help but be reminded of Georgetown. From the quaint boutiques, to the high-end stores, to the well-healed shoppers walking cobblestone streets, Luzern and Zurich in Switzerland offered frequent reminders of my usual haunts in the USofA. Georgetown boasts some of the oldest structures in the District, but pales in comparison to the European buildings dating back to 1500 and 1600s.
