Husband and wife Georgetown small business owners are opening their second store in Old Town.
Chocoholics – and pretty much everyone else – rejoice. Fleurir Hand Grown Chocolates is expanding. Husband and wife team Robert Ludlow and Ashley Hubbard are opening their second store on 724 Jefferson St. this week in Old Town. The duo opened their first store on P Street in Georgetown, but their second shop is something of a homecoming. They started and grew their business selling chocolates at the Old Town Farmer’s Market. They searched for a place in Old Town, but veered away from popular King Street. Fleurir Chocolates needs your vote to be in the running for a $250,000 small buiness grant from Chase and LivingSocial. The P Street chocolate shop posted to Facebook about the Mission:Small Business contest, saying they could use the funds to expand, "and, therefore, get one step closer to world domination." (Joking of course). According to the contest website, "The awarded Grants will be $250,000 each and are intended to help up to 12 small businesses grow by expanding, upgrading equipment, or improving a product or service."
