The salad and yogurt eatery was started by Georgetown University graduates.
Sweetgreen is celebrating five years in the salad and yogurt business, having expanded from one shop on M Street to 12 in three states and the District. The first location at 3333 M St., NW opened Aug. 1, 2007. There is no doubt that Georgetowners loves their frozen treats. On any hot night there is a line out the door at Thomas Sweets and Dolcezza. Sweet Green and Iceberry are swarming. And there are always faces peering out from Ben & Jerry's and Haagen Daz. Even Dean and DeLucca has gelato in the summer. But Georgetown really seems to associate frozen treats with sitting outside and watching the crowds go by. The outdoor tables at Thomas …
